Meet Esther.
My Story and Experience
My name is Esther (she/her) and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT 123390) in Orange County, California.
Welcome. I’m glad you are here to take the first step in your journey toward healing. Life can be filled with many stressors impacting our mental, emotional, physical, and relational health. You are not meant to go through it alone.
Growing up as a child of immigrant parents as a Korean American woman in the midwest, I saw, experienced, and heard many rich stories filled with pain, beauty, and a wealth of resilience. One thing that I’ve found in common in all of these stories was the reality that relationships happen to be the greatest source of both pain and healing. Because of this, I hold a compassionate, collaborative, and relational approach in my work with clients. I have always been drawn to hearing each person’s story and firmly believe that telling your story is often where you need to start your journey towards health, healing, and wholeness. My hope for you is that you would feel heard, seen, and cared for as we venture into the hardest parts of your story. It is in that place where we can highlight your resiliency, strengthen your sense of self, and move towards the change you seek in your life.
I have experience working with individuals, couples, groups, and families in Asian American and urban multicultural settings. From these contexts, I’ve developed a passion for creating a safe and non-judgmental environment to help you develop a deep understanding of yourself, reclaim your voice, identify truths about yourself, and to cultivate strong, healthy relationships.
For clients who are interested, my previous experience and training in ministry contexts allow me to uniquely integrate spirituality into our therapeutic work. Therapy could be the safe space you need to find healing and relief from the emotional pain you carry.
Credentials
I completed a Master of Science in Marital and Family Therapy from Fuller School of Psychology and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of Illinois at Chicago.
I am a certified Prepare and Enrich facilitator and am passionate about helping couples in their journey of understanding one another and strengthening their relationship.
I am also certified in Restoration Therapy (Level II) where I help clients and couples identify safety and identity patterns, while empowering client emotional regulation, and mindfulness for behavioral change. This modality helps clients grow insight into their cycle of conflict in relationships and moves them to healthier cycles of connectedness to others and themselves.
I have in-depth training in Havening Techniques, a trauma recovery model utilizing a psychosensory tool that is proven to be extremely beneficial for healing trauma.
